Open and import any image file ony our computer
This is your original image file. The resolution of this file should be greater than your desired output resolution.
This is the base name of your image. The generated images will have this filename plus a suffix and the file extension. For example, if this name is "Button", the first generated file will have the name "Button.png" and if a retina image will be generated it would be named "Button@2x.png"
Press the folder button to select an output folder. When clicking "Export Icons", all the image files will be written to this folder.
If you select an Xcode Asset folder here (for example the default "Assets.xcassets" folder in your projects directory) a correct .imageset folder will be created and filled with all files necessary to create a valid asset entry for Xcode.
Those parameters only affect the generation of new icons. Your original image will not be touched.
You can resize the icon inside the output format (not: the output format width and height will not change). One (1) is the default - the image will not be resized here. Press X to reset the scale value to 1.
This is the resize method. If (for example) the original images aspect ratio is wider than the output ratio, there are two possibilities:
The image will be resized to match the target height, left and right will be cropped
or
The image will be fitted inside the target rectangle and the empty space will be filled with the configured background color.
Any empty or alpha values below 1 will be filled with this color. Press X to reset to clear color (alpha=0)
You can tint any icon with the color you want. Works best with monochrome icons with clear background (alpha = 0). Click on X to reset to clear color.
Select your target device and template here. There are over 50 size templates for iOS, OSX, Apple Watch, AppleTV or Android here. You can additionally create your own templates which will also appear here.
Here you wil see the generated icons, their resolution and the generated filename. You can drag the icon from here into your Xcode Asset editor or anywhere into your file system
If there is a red triangle with an exclamation mark, it means the original image needs to be upscaled to generate the icon. This would result in quality loss and is not recommended.
Here you will see a preview of the icon in the selected output environment. Use this to get a feeling for the vibe of your graphics without the need to recompile and run your application.
You will see a list of your created templates here. The icon is dependant on the Preview mode you selected.
You can add or delete templates here.

This is the pixel size of the generated image
This is the file suffix that will be inserted between base filename and file extension. For a retina image, you would enter "@2x" here.
